Last-minute bookings are the blind spot for salon profitability. Last-minute cancellations, no-shows—no salon is immune to them. Yet a spot that opens up at the last minute can become the most profitable of the day, provided the right clients know about it in time. More and more customers are booking at the last minute, and many are already following you on Instagram. Live on stage, a cancellation can be filled in just a few minutes, without changing the way you work. Then there’s the salon’s instinct to fill its same-day slots at the right price. Salon, barbershop, or beauty salon owners: leave knowing how much the last minute costs you—and how much it can earn you.
